Grande-Motte Beach:
Between futuristic design and seaside pleasures
Grande-Motte beach, located in Hérault, is much more than just a seaside resort on the Mediterranean coast. Designed in the 1960s, it is famous in France for its bold architecture, blending geometric pyramids and modernism, all facing the sun. Located in a coastal area, this town with its unique identity combines futuristic design, a relaxed lifestyle, and maritime pleasures. Whether you come for a day or an extended stay, you will find a complete tourist experience: beaches, clear waters, a private beach with deckchairs, water sports, bike rides, friendly restaurants, and entertainment throughout the year. Whether you are a couple, with friends, or family, La Grande-Motte welcomes you in a setting that is both aesthetically pleasing and practical, perfect for both rest and leisure.
Sunset Beach: located to the west of the seaside resort
Grand Travers beach: between Carnon and La Grande-Motte
Located east of La Grande-Motte, between Carnon and the resort, Grand Travers Beach is a more natural and unspoiled area. It stretches over several kilometers of fine sand bordered by dunes. Although it is a little out of the way, it is accessible by bike or by the bus line connecting to the city center. It is a popular spot for those seeking a peaceful atmosphere. In addition, some areas are equipped with deckchair rentals and bars. Thanks to its layout, Grand Travers remains a perfect choice for a peaceful day on the coast.
Point Zero Beach: tourist heart of the city
Point Zéro Beach is undoubtedly the most iconic beach in La Grande-Motte. Located in the center, it is surrounded by numerous tourist facilities: shops, beachfront addresses, hotels, and the tourist office. Very popular, it is ideal for those who want to stay close to services while enjoying the sun. There are also private beaches with deckchairs, as well as water sports. Although the atmosphere is livelier, the beach remains clean and well-supervised. It is the ideal meeting point for a day of 100% leisure and relaxation.
The marina: walks along the quayside, restaurants and shops
The port of La Grande-Motte is a must-see, especially at the end of the day. This modern marina welcomes sailboats and yachts in a pleasant setting, surrounded by restaurants, bars, and shops. It’s also the starting point for many water sports: sailing, boat trips, jet skiing, and cruises. The promenade along the quay is ideal for a family or romantic stroll. So, even if you’re not here for the beach, the port offers another side of the city, combining entertainment, tourism, and a friendly atmosphere on the town’s shoreline.
