With its lively marina, long sandy beaches, friendly atmosphere, and unspoiled nature, the town offers a perfect balance between relaxation and activities. Whether you’re with family, a partner, or friends, you’ll find something to spend a day or a full stay in the sun. The town offers many options: bike rides, markets, galleries, festive events, and even water sports. With easy access by car or tram, exploring Carnon means enjoying a unique atmosphere combining the Mediterranean, seaside tourism, and the good life.

Carnon plage - Plage du Petit travers

Petit Travers Beach: wild and unspoiled coastline

Located between Carnon and La Grande-Motte, Petit Travers Beach is one of the region’s natural gems. This protected, undeveloped site offers a large expanse of fine sand bordered by dunes. While it may be less well-known, it’s an excellent spot for those looking to relax away from the noise. Easily accessible by bike via a path along the sea, this beach is charming for its simplicity. Furthermore, it’s relatively uncrowded, even during high season. As a result, it’s a perfect spot for a break surrounded by nature.

The Dunes du Grand Travers beach: family-friendly and lively

The Dunes du Grand Travers beach is located west of Carnon and attracts families thanks to its shallow waters and vast areas of sand. The atmosphere is livelier than that of Petit Travers, with entertainment, a designated parking lot, and often food trucks or small restaurants. In summer, festive events are organized there for all ages. As a result, it’s a popular destination for a fun day out by the Mediterranean. Children, in particular, will find plenty to enjoy in complete safety thanks to the summer lifeguards.
